| Shedd Aquarium Chicago, Illinois Historic Preservation Consulting/ Historic Building Assessment and Building Preservation Plan McGuire Igleski & Associates, Inc. completed a Historic Building Preservation Plan which included an intensive survey, assessment, analysis, identification and description of the historic significance of the building and interior spaces. The report also included recommendations for preservation, repair and prioritization of future work. The Plan was prepared in response to the museum's desire for a planning document to facilitate future maintenance, improvements and agency review. The John G. Shedd Aquarium, designed by Graham Anderson Probst & White in the Classical Revival style, was constructed between 1927 and 1930. The building has been designated a National Historic Landmark, and remains one of the world's largest indoor aquariums. |
