McGuire Igleski & Associates, Inc. completed an existing conditions survey of ballustrades, steps and ashlar walls for the museum expansion including extensive reconfiguration of the terraces.

Over 4,500 marble units were evaluated prior to dismantling. Services included consulting for the dismantling, cleaning, and reconstruction with restored and new marble.

McGuire Igleski & Associates, Inc. developed a Historic Building Preservation Plan: an intensive survey, assessment, analysis, identification and description of the historic significance of the building and interior spaces. The Plan facilitates future maintenance, improvements and agency review.

Designed by Daniel H. Burnham in the Classical Revival style, the building was completed in 1921 by successor firm Graham, Anderson, Probst and White. The Field Museum of Natural History has been determined eligible for National Historic Landmark designation and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
