Station Restoration

McGuire Igleski & Associates, Inc. provided consulting for the restoration of the Francisco station on the CTA’s Brown Line. Work included research in local archives to identify historic documentation about the buildings and on-site assessment and identification of historic features for preservation.

Constructed by the Northwestern Elevated Railroad Company in 1907, the Francisco station was one of five at-grade stations built at the end of the Ravenswood branch of the north-side line. The station is one of the stations in the CTA system that has been determined eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places.
