MCGUIRE IGLESKI & ASSOCIATES, INC. provided architectural services for the existing conditions evaluation and reuse study for the site.

Project included evaluation of code and ADA requirements for the rehabilitation of prototype buildings; develop typical floor plans and site improvements following the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation, and prepare site development plans and cost estimates for three schemes.


Lathrop Homes opened in 1938. The public housing campus included 18 three-and four-story walk-ups, 11 row houses, and multiple support buildings. The buildings were designed by prominent architects including Robert DeGolyer, Hugh M.G. Garden and Tallmadge & Watson; the site was designed by Jens Jensen. Lathrop Homes is eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places.
