Postville Courthouse Historic Site, Lincoln, Illinois Rehabilitation of Postville Courthouse Historic Site, Lincoln, Illinois MCGUIRE IGLESKI & ASSOCIATES, INC. was the architect for the complete rehabilitation of courthouse and site elements including restoration and rehabilitation of building components to introduce historically authentic elements such as: fireplaces, mantels, windows, walnut clapboard siding and shed. Project also included new heating, plumbing and electrical systems which were upgraded for museum preservation collection. Recipient of the Thomas H. Madigan Award for Rehabilitation, 2001. The original building constructed as the Courthouse for the Logan County Seat in 1840 was purchased and moved to Greenfield Village in Michigan by Henry Ford. This 1953 reconstruction, an Illinois State Historic Site, is located on the original site and is open to the public as an Interpretive Center covering the period during which Postville served as Logan County Seat and during which Abraham Lincoln practiced law. | ||||
