Frances Willard House
Historic Structure Report and Interior Restoration

MIA prepared an Historic Structure Report for this Gothic Revival house and restored it to Frances Willard’s bedroom and study c1870. The project included an evaluation of all building elements and the remediation of structural deficiencies. The HSR provides recommendations for short and long-term planning.  In-situ investigations and archival research informed the restoration which included wallpaper replication and installation of other historically compatible finishes, furnishings and fixtures.

The Frances Willard House was constructed in 1865 with an 1878 addition. Owned by the Woman’s Christian Temperance Union, the house is operated by the Frances Willard Historical Association as a museum.
