Fountain of Time Reflecting Pool Restoration
Historic Reflecting Pool Restoration

MIA provided consulting services to Conservation of Sculpture & Objects Studio, Inc. The architectural concrete pool floor was replaced; wall cracks were repaired using injection epoxies; and new aggregate selected to match the original material. A new re-circulation pump system was installed and new lighting designed by Schuler Shook waits further funding.

The 1922 pool was designed by Howard Van Doren Shaw for the Lorado Taft the sculpture.  John Joseph Earley executed both using his technique of mixing the aggregate in the concrete and scrubbing the surface to produce a natural-looking pebble finish. The Fountain is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
