University of Chicago Laboratory Schools Renovation
Restoration of Significant Spaces within the Building Complex
McGuire Igleski & Associates, Inc. is consulting to FGM Architects with Valerio Dewalt Train Associates for the historic preservation of significant spaces as part of the renovation of the Laboratory Schools buildings. Project includes major repairs, infrastructure improvements, life safety and security upgrades throughout as well as the reorganization and renovation of areas of the 315,000 SF complex. The Laboratory Schools, located on the University of Chicago campus, is within the Hyde Park-Kenwood National Register Historic District. The Collegiate Gothic style buildings were built between 1903 and 1993 and include work by notable architect James Gamble Rogers.
